Defense Minister Pistorius visits logistics command

Virtual training for logistics: Our Bundeswehr intrapreneur Josef Jakobi presented our TrainAR innovation project to Minister Pistorius.

Last week, Defense Minister Pistorius visited the German Armed Forces Logistics Command (LogKdoBw) in Erfurt. We took the opportunity to present one of our logistics innovation projects to him!

The TrainAR software application uses AI to create virtual training materials and AR holograms of vehicle types. This is particularly helpful when training the next generation of logistics specialists. Until now, the size of training groups has always depended on the number of vehicles available. By using augmented reality and immersive teaching methods, the training group can now be enlarged and idle times without available vehicles can be bridged. With TrainAR, soldiers not only learn how to handle equipment and vehicles, but can also be trained without being tied to a specific location.

We have been closely associated with the LogKdoBw at least since our joint Logistics Innovation Challenge. We have generated 86 innovation ideas together - including, for example, our YARDED innovation project, with which we won the NATO Logistics Challenge last year.
